SERENA at the 3rd EQUICARES Project Meeting

SERENA participated in the Sister Projects Online Session of the 3rd EQUICARES Project Meeting, held online on 10 December 2025.

The session brought together Horizon Europe projects working on child protection, healthcare access, and vulnerable populations, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore future collaboration opportunities.

Contributions from SERENA partners

Alexios Georgalis from the Institute of Child Health (ICH) and WP15 – Communication & Dissemination delivered a presentation introducing the SERENA project during the Sister Projects Online Session.

The presentation provided an overview of SERENA’s objectives, methodology, research progress, publications, and dissemination strategy. It also highlighted the project’s work on improving understanding of violence against children and strengthening evidence-based responses across Europe.

Impact and outcomes

Participation in the EQUICARES Project Meeting strengthened SERENA’s collaboration with Horizon Europe sister projects and increased the project’s visibility within the European research community.

The session facilitated exchanges with policy makers, NGOs, child protection professionals, and other stakeholders, while also identifying opportunities for future joint dissemination activities, including webinars and shared outputs.

By engaging with projects working on related themes, SERENA continues to contribute to the development of a stronger European network focused on child protection, healthcare access, and policy-relevant research for vulnerable children.
