SERENA at the Nordic Network for Longitudinal Child Welfare Research (NORDLOCH)

SERENA participated in a meeting of the Nordic Network for Longitudinal Child Welfare Research (NORDLOCH), held at Stockholm University on 23 September 2025.

During the meeting, SERENA research activities related to the Swedish component of the project were introduced to researchers working in the field of child welfare and longitudinal research.

Contributions from SERENA partners

Lars Brännström from the Department of Criminology at Stockholm University delivered a brief oral presentation on the Swedish part of the SERENA project, focusing on activities within WP4 and WP7.

The presentation provided an overview of the project’s planned research activities and objectives in Sweden, highlighting SERENA’s ongoing work on child welfare and longitudinal research approaches.

Impact and outcomes

Participation in the NORDLOCH meeting strengthened SERENA’s visibility within the Nordic child welfare research community and created opportunities to share the project with researchers working on related topics.

The presentation reached approximately 10–15 researchers and contributed to raising awareness of SERENA’s planned activities and future research developments. Feedback from the meeting was positive, and the activity helped reinforce connections within the international child welfare research network.
